Streets involved in this year include:
Bower St (Riddle to Caledonia) Burns St (Riddle to Caledonia) Inverness St. (Michigan to Bower) Boston Blvd. Alger St. Factory St. Wetmore St. Railroad St. West St. (Grand River to RR)
PROJECT DETAILS:
Hours of Construction – 6:30 am to 7 pm Monday – Saturday There is potential for construction to be performed on Sundays.
Details: Pulverize asphalt roads (entire area), install sanitary sewer mains, install sanitary sewer leads, install watermain, install storm sewer within roadway, connect new watermain to existing, install water services, roadway excavation, install storm sewer outside of roadway, prepare and place concrete curbs, sidewalks and driveways, prepare and place asphalt roadway base, prepare and place asphalt driveways, place asphalt top, final grading and plant grass seed.
Throughout the length of the project, the contractor is required to keep one lane open for emergency vehicle access. During construction hours (6:30 am to 7 pm, Monday through Saturday), there may be times that you will not be able to access your driveway; we suggest that you park your vehicle out of the construction area along a near by side street. At the end of each work day, the contractor will rough grade your drive approach to allow access to your homes; however, at times (such as during curb and gutter installation, paving operations, and driveway approach installation) this will not be possible. All attempts will be made to allow access to your homes on a regular basis, but be advised that utility and road work will create delays and cause periodic utility interruptions.
If you have any personal property within the street right-of-way such as sprinkler systems, fencing, landscaping, etc., you may want to move these items to better protect them. If they are in the way, the contractor will remove the items and place them on your property. Generally, the contractor is not responsible for reinstalling these items.
If you need special accommodations during construction such as large deliveries, handicap accessibility, etc., please contact us as soon as possible or talk to the on-site city inspector once the project begins. Trash pick will be on the regular scheduled day, but before contractor operations (6 am). In addition, we will notify all emergency services, the post office, school transportation, newspapers, etc.
Our experience has taught us that in rare case, vibrations from construction operations have caused items within homes to “move around”. We recommend packing away valuable items on shelves, walls or furniture until the project is completed.
