The Howell City Council has approved a three-year program that will reconstruct approximately 10.805 miles of the City’s 36 miles of streets (click here for a map of the streets included). The City of Howell  embarked on this infasructure improvements in July, 2009, including reconstruction of approximately 11 miles of the City’s 36 miles of streets, replacement of aging water and sewer lines, and storm sewer improvements.  The condition of infrastructure is an important element that can significantly impact the long-term economic strength of a community and the value of its residential and commercial properties.  Many of the streets included in the program have not undergone any significant rehabilitation within the last twenty years. More…

Year One of the Multi Year Improvement Program is complete.  The only remaining items will be restoration and any  repairs.

Year Two of the Multi Year Improvement Program was awared February 8, 2010.  Streets included in this Year include Bower (Riddle north), Boston Blvd, Burns, Alger, Factory, West and Wetmore.  The contract was awarded to DiPonio Construction, and they have informed the City their tentative schedule will include 2 areas.  Area one will begin with everything north of Riddle and include Boston Blvd.  They will then move to Area two – everything south of Riddle.

We need your help…  Please avoid walking, riding or marking on all wet cement areas.  Correcting the damage caused not only delays the project but can result in additional costs to the City.  The City and the contractors will be monitoring daily for damages.  Anyone caught causing damage will be required to pay any costs incurred to repair the damage.  Thank you for your cooperation.
